Membership Luncheon Meeting
Please join us for a luncheon meeting with guest speaker, Michele Shirer with Quality Care Partners.
This presentation aims to educate not only on what Quality Care Partners does and the services it provides to brokers but also on self-funded and level-funded plans, the role of third-party administrators, and the function of stop-loss carriers in employee health benefits. Additionally, it will highlight the importance of wellness programs, a strong provider network, and strategic planning to help employers reduce healthcare costs while improving employee health outcomes.

About Our Speakers
JOHN FLAHERTY
John is a Vice President and Market Manager in PNC’s Organizational Financial Wellness group. John manages a dynamic team who work closely with organizations Human Resources leaders to deliver customized financial wellness benefits to help move employees forward financially.
He has been with PNC for 13 years. 9 of those spent working directly with company HR groups. Before his time as Market Manager he spent time in the retail segment as a Personal Banker, as a Business Development Officer in the WorkPlace Banking department, and as a Relationship Manager in the Commercial Banking group. On top of leading the Organizational Financial Wellness team in Central Ohio he works as a D&I Mentor which focuses on supporting employees inclusive leadership development and professional growth. He is also a Certified Women In Business Advocate, Certified Minority Business Advocate, and a Certified Climate Transition Advocate. John is a graduate of Wittenberg University and loves his ability to make an impact on individuals lives by helping them along their financial wellness journey.
JEREMY STRASSELL
Jeremy Strassell is an Assistant Vice President and Financial Wellness Consultant in PNC Organizational Financial Wellness, serving the Central Ohio market. He is a PNC-Certified Women’s Business Advocate. Jeremy works with healthcare, manufacturing and other types of organizations to create engaging, high-impact employee financial wellness programs.
With more than 15 years of financial services experience, Jeremy brings in-depth knowledge to his position. He began his career at PNC as a Customer Service Associate within the Retail branch network and then moved through positions of increasing responsibility including Senior WorkPlace Financial Consultant and Senior WorkPlace Business Development Officer before assuming his current role. Jeremy has been recognized for his exceptional achievements through the PNC Circle of Excellence Award and Market All-Star Award programs. Jeremy has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne. Jeremy volunteers hours in the community to provide Financial Wellness Seminars to educate and assist younger as well as older people navigate through their Financial Journey.

Membership Breakfast Meeting
Join NABIP Columbus for a Membership Breakfast Meeting with guest speaker, Brent Vogel, Jr. of The Standard. One-hour of CE credit will be provided for Brent’s presentation on “Supplemental Health Products and Enrollment”.
This course provides in introduction into enrollment and voluntary products that are sold to employees at the workplace. Throughout the course, common terminology is explained, along with product details of accident, critical Illness, and hospital indemnity insurance. The enrollment section describes the basics of enrollment support, including different solutions to maximize participation of the voluntary products.

During this presentation, we will discuss a number of issues you should be aware of to help ensure a smooth transition between carriers – and help make sure that no employee falls through the cracks when their insurance changes from one group carrier to another. Topics include: actively at work, waiting periods, continuation of coverage, grandfathering dental takeover considerations.
